Empowering Youth through Yoga
Our mission is to empower youth to face everyday stress and significant life challenges with resilience and calm, through yoga and mindfulness techniques. With an understanding that mental health is shaped by the social, economic, and physical environments in which children live and learn, we partner with schools to provide ongoing yoga/mindfulness programming for students and staff, with a focus on schools in underserved, trauma-affected communities. We utilize a curriculum that aligns the techniques of yoga and mindfulness—breath work, physical movement, and meditation—with social-emotional learning competencies, helping youth, and the adults who work with them, to navigate strong emotions and lessen the impact of trauma.
