St. Martha's Hall Emergency Shelter
St. Martha's Hall provides a shelter care program for abused women and their children. Our mission is to help abused women and their children break the cycle of violence in their lives. Our Children's Program was created to decrease the inter-generational transmission of domestic violence and to address the needs of children of battered women. The objectives are to reverse misconceptions that the child caused the violence; reduce incidents of aggressive behavior; present the belief that violence is neither normal nor acceptable; foster self-esteem and self-awareness; and provide developmental, educational, and medical advocacy.
