Family-Based Respite Care Program
Lutheran Family and Children's Services of Missouri (LFCS) provides Family-Based Respite Care for children, from birth through age five, in a licensed foster home when a parent is experiencing a crisis such as hospitalization, drug or alcohol treatment, homelessness, unemployment, or is considering adoption. The parent receives case management services during and after the child's respite stay in order for the parent to build a safe and stable environment for the children. Staff provide education and referrals in areas of child development, healthcare, parenting skills, nutrition, childcare, relationships, and the role of the father in the child's life.
