Xpress U Thru Art
Xpress U Thru Art (XUTA) is Good Journey Development Foundation’s healing art program designed to support the mental and emotional well-being of youth ages 8 to 19 through creative expression, counseling, and cultural connection. XUTA serves youth in school and community settings across North St. Louis County. Youth participate in 14, 60- to 90-minute, weekly sessions per semester during which artists and counselors lead small groups through 3 to 5 structured healing art projects. The artist facilitates the projects and counselor provides social/emotional guidance, allowing youth to explore their personal experiences, trauma, and emotions while developing coping methods in safe, affirming spaces.
