Flourish Community Counseling
This program is a prevention service designed to provide mental health training on the needs of youth ages 12 to 18. The goal is to obtain training for four instructors that are qualified to provide Youth Mental Health First Aid training and certification. The target population is individuals that are related to or provide services to youth that reside in the inner North County area. After completing an 8-hour training and passing the exam, participants will become certified First Aiders, which gives them the knowledge and skills to help individuals during a mental health crisis. The goal is to certify 600 individuals during the 2-year funding cycle. During the training, participants will learn to identify symptoms of common mental health disorders, utilize a Mental Health First Aid Action Plan, and interventions to use during a mental health crisis.
