Bridging Families to Communities and Beyond
St Louis YouthBuild
Our program of mental and behavioral health support services and counseling uses the successful St. Louis YouthBuild model to educate youth about the harmful and life-altering effects of substance misuse and the potentially negative effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) such as violence, abuse, neglect, and poverty. This prevention program is designed to help youth, their parents, and staff of participating agencies develop understanding and coping skills for better outcomes and brighter futures for our youth. Most participants (85%) come from or work in communities that surround Northwoods where there are high rates of violence, crime, and poverty. We plan to collaborate with local schools, parents, churches, and include eligible students from our existing programs (St. Louis YouthBuild and ReStart).
